Monday, July 28, 2008

The V1 CPU cooler of Taiwanese computer components manufacturer Thermaltake Technologies is so gosh darn pretty, it won the prize is a root that way. Look at them, sweeping ridges and graceful snake. It is like the Thermaltake prepared a metal heart of a robot super model or something.

The V1 CPU cooler is a 12-volt electric fan, which is run at speeds between 1300 and 2000 rpm, and it is a whopping more than five inches long and high and about four inches wide, so make sure you have the space. Most importantly, however, you want to make sure that your computer if you have either comes standard - or modded - windows, so that the masterpiece, such as the V1 does not live in the lives of darkness.

The best part? This child is not only a show - you can have a cooling, the computer's $ 60. Click on the Continue or the image below to see how the Thermaltake V1 CPU cooler regarded as a machine. (device)

First DNS attacks

Saturday, July 26, 2008

The first attack on the DNS KAMINSKY vulnerability has been reported.

The attack was reported to the user with the name of James Kosin Fedora Linux mailing list. Kosin posted a record, which he said collected Thursday evening. The attacker trying to access the server cache to write in such places as myspace, eBay and Wachovia.

The attack attempts to target a vulnerability in the Domain Name System, where an attacker can change the cache to the DNS server to redirect the site for hazardous-site third party.

"It frightens is fully in this weakness in force. Patch or upgrade now!" Kosin wrote.

Industry experts, including KAMINSKY itself, issued a similar warning administrators. KAMINSKY deliberately held off on the release of information about the error until the sellers could patch it.

Exploit code for the vulnerability was issued earlier this week as a module to the Metasploit framework.

Although experts estimate that most ISPs and sellers have fixed the error, poorly maintained DNS servers could be more open to attack.

Fix promised for Windows Update / ZoneAlarm problem

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

If you already have to prevent the now infamous Microsoft security patch that broke Internet connection in Windows XP with the popular ZoneAlarm firewall, there are updates of Checkpoint to the problem.

The official word from Microsoft can be found in this article Knowledge Base.

It is a concern with Windows, Windows, we must install, once it is available, but this recent incident is not it seems like a good idea. And when I was a fully automatic update these days, I choose the option to download updates, and then asked me to install. Frankly, I seldom had the time or the inclination to investigate the first update, so it seems that not much sense.

The situation was almost the same as I was Ubuntu Linux. It would alert me to update and install, I would, often without reading the list of repairs. I like to hear from any Mac users who found their way to negotiations with updates.

Checkpoint Give due credit when it did not take too long to come up with the repairs.

It is therefore not necessary for someone to their rest, but yesterday was the day on which Windows XP Service Pack 3 become part of the Automatic Updates feature. It is three months from the squad was released and I personally had no problem with him. But it is always a good idea to have time to complete back-up at major updates are in the pipeline, regardless of the operating system.
