Dressing for Halloween is a favorite of most children, not to mention adults looking for a good party. To say that someone or something to be is a fun and refreshing. We say and do things you otherwise could not, all in the spirit of role-playing in your character. Then, after an evening with light, you get the costume and come back to them.
But if you’ve never done the costume, the fun disappears quickly. What exactly happens when some people in leadership positions. You decide, or read somewhere that they need to be different, as they sat on their lead suit, which seems in some cases, nothing of that. People around them are left to guess who this person in the costume, which is important and what they expect of others. Confusion and our newly appointed chief are off to a sputtering start.
The problem is that in the process of transformation in the leader they think they should, they are the essence of the person who was to head first to lose. In other words, they lose their compass. If we lose our personal compass, it is very difficult to govern, manage and others. Not to mention the intense dissonance we feel when we come to us from our true selves.
This does not mean that some changes are not necessary if we become a leader. There are, of course. In fact, those who cannot make a change some things also struggle as a new leader. But these changes mean that we do and how we do things, not who we are in our database. To change the heart of our business is a costume that can never be removed, and share.
