We always need air conditioners especially in the long hot summer season. But apparently we often take them for granted by letting them keep operating all day in and out. Only a few of us really concern to clean them once in a while and apply some treatments to maintain their performances. When it is time for us to pay our energy bills, that is when we realize that we need to be more efficient on air conditioning system. Some tips to save more energy on air conditioners are:
- Instead of using air conditioners in each room in your house, consider to use central air conditioner. You can save more money and at the same time save the environment.
- If you have already applied central air conditioning, consider to buy more efficient unit when it is more than 10 years old. One of the air conditioning products I recommended is the ones manufactured by Energy Star.
- Do not forget to check the SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) at 13 (minimum), the higher the better. Just buy the one which suit best with your budget.
- Choose the one which has a fan features to save energy at nights. This way you can turn off the air conditioning while still keep the fan operates to ventilate the air in your house.
